About

Erin E. Costa: Author

Erin E. Costa writes historical fantasy that blends history, magic, romance, and the consequences of meddling with things best left alone.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Erin spent years working in the culinary world before turning her attention to storytelling. The two pursuits may have more in common than they first appear: both reward curiosity, patience, attention to detail, and the willingness to experiment until something finally works.

Her fiction grows out of a lifelong fascination with history, folklore, and the stories hidden in old places. She is particularly drawn to the gaps in the historical record—the unanswered questions, half-remembered legends, and strange details that invite the question, What if? Researching a novel can send her anywhere from nineteenth-century royal courts and forgotten customs to mythology, architecture, food, clothing, and the everyday lives of people who lived centuries ago.

She is currently working on The Magician’s Witch, a historical fantasy trilogy that begins when a modern-day witch is abducted through time and delivered to the Persian court of 1850, where her unlikely ally is a masked foreign magician whom history will remember very differently.

When she isn’t writing or disappearing down historical research rabbit holes, Erin can usually be found cooking, baking, gardening, or planning whatever story comes next.
