The Magician’s Witch

Historical Fantasy

There are three crucial rules of magic:

One: Never use magic for your own gain.

Two: Never manipulate another person’s free will.

Three: Under no circumstances is fate to be altered, manipulated, or otherwise changed.

As an apprentice witch, Eilis Linskey has had these rules drilled into her.

And then she is abducted during the annual Gathering.

Trapped in the Persian court of 1850, Eilis must rely on dubious assistance from a masked foreign magician—a man history has already condemned.

Erin E. Costa: Author

Erin writes historical fantasy that blends history, magic, romance, and the consequences of meddling with things best left alone.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she spent years working in the culinary world before turning her attention to storytelling. Her love of history, folklore, and the stories hidden in old places finds its way into her fiction.

Behind the Stories

History has a way of hiding its best stories in the details.

My fiction grows out of a fascination with history, folklore, old places, and the strange rabbit holes that begin with a simple research question and somehow end three hours later with a dozen open tabs.

From the courts of nineteenth-century Persia to the legends and traditions that survive across generations, I love exploring the places where documented history ends and imagination begins.
